175mm - 185mm
45mm high
3mm - 2mm - 1.5mm
Made as a batch so listed together pretty uniform slightly convex bevels, some variation as they’re made by hand 🤚
150g (apart from one which is 165g, terrible consistency I know)
En42 (the dark steel) pure nickel (silver bits) and Apex ultra core steel
Bead blasted bevels with rough forged ku, coffee etched for a dark moody finish because it is spooky season after all, a coffee patina will also help hold rust at bay a little as it already has a layer of patina put down, one lay great thing about a coffee patina is that it can be re-done at home with nothing more specialised than a pot of instant coffee and a scouring pad.
Not all knives need stone polished bevels, stones play well with certain finishes and steels these have been thinned on the horizontal wheel at 120g then bead blasted, finished and a tiny bevel has been popped on at a 3k vitrified diamond stone then quick strop. If you know your steels then you’ll probably know apex ultra is a modern alloy designed for kitchen knives, it’s a premium high carbon tungsten steel which has been through a re-melting process to make it incredibly clean, with the right heat treatment it provides a very fine grained structure which allows for high hardness and toughness.
There’s a micro bevel for ease of maintenance and sharpening
They have a half octagonal half round handle made of bog oak which is sourced from Adamson and low and is circa 5500yrs old
